Ephesus, the biblical city - on facebook
Ephesus was an ancient Greek city, and later a major Roman city. In the Roman period, it was for many years the second largest city of the Roman Empire; ranking behind Rome, the empire's capital.
During the visit to Turkey, we had the pleasure to visit this site and see the amazing details that gave it such a high ranked position.
The theater for over 40,000 people, the temple of Hadrian and the library are three impressive spots to visit. The full photo album can be seen here.
However, despite its magnitude it is not listed as world cultural heritage.
Surprising, no?
